Jabra has introduced the Evolve 65t, a pair of true wireless earbuds built for people who work on the move. The Copenhagen-based company says it is the first true wireless earbud to earn Skype for Business certification.
True wireless earbuds have become popular with consumers. Until now, though, Jabra argues, there has been no professional-grade equivalent for office calls. The Evolve 65t is meant to close that gap, since it is designed for calls first and music second.
What the earbuds do
- Four microphones handle call quality, even in noisy places.
- The earbuds connect to two devices at once, such as a laptop and a phone.
- Battery life reaches up to 15 hours with the charging case. A 15-minute charge gives about 1.5 hours of use.
- One touch calls up the user’s preferred voice assistant.
- The Jabra Sound+ app lets users adjust music settings.
The design relies on passive noise cancellation and comes with several fitting options. The earbuds also support Microsoft Teams through call control, so they fit companies that are moving away from Skype for Business.
Jabra built the product around a shift in how people work. Its research suggests that about a third of office workers spend 20 percent or less of their time at a desk. As a result, employees need headsets that follow them from the open office to the train and back.
Holger Reisinger, a senior vice president at Jabra, said the Evolve line gives employees the tools to stay productive. That holds whether they sit in an open office or work flexibly, he added. The 65t now brings a true wireless model into the range.
The Evolve 65t later reached other markets. In the UK it carried a suggested price of 265 pounds. By contrast, the Australian price was 605 Australian dollars.
