DipJar Introduces DipCast

DipJar is a Boston company that makes simple and secure fundraising tools. On November 1, 2018, it released a new product called DipCast. It builds on the DipJar platform and aims to speed up giving at events. DipCast went on sale right away through the company’s website.

Jon Fraser, DipJar’s chief operating officer, said customers wanted more visible fundraising at live events, and more money raised. DipCast answers that request. It sends donation activity to any screen over a plain HDMI cable. In his words, that makes live fundraising both more effective and more fun.

The product turns giving into a kind of game. Once it is connected to a screen, it shows donation reports and updates in real time. Organizers can set it up as a thermometer, a voting board or a counter. They can also add graphics made for their own brand or event. To use DipCast, an organization needs at least one DipJar with an active subscription.

Dress for Success Boston tried it at a recent fundraiser that tracked donations of clothes, shoes and accessories. Kim Todd, the group’s executive director, said DipCast was a big hit. According to her, it helped raise more money in a short time, which is exactly what any nonprofit wants.

DipJar offers cashless giving through a mix of hardware, software and payments. Groups of any size can use it to collect gifts and sign up donors wherever they meet supporters in person. That includes headquarters, special events and cause marketing with corporate and retail partners. Since cash, checks and paper pledge cards are fading, the company positions its tools as a fast and easy replacement.
