Metro Holiday Ice Rink Discount: $5 Off Code and Dates

Metro riders can get $5 off general admission at two Los Angeles-area holiday ice rinks with the code METROHOLIDAY. The Metro holiday ice rink discount runs Nov. 30 to Dec. 17, 2026, according to Metro’s Oct. 27 announcement.

How the Metro holiday ice rink discount works

At checkout, enter the code or the last four digits of your TAP card. GoPass students get the same offer. The code covers general admission only, and it works only inside that window. However, both rinks open earlier, so a skate in mid-November will not qualify.

That timing matters. The code expires Dec. 17, but the rinks stay open into January. So the best plan is a trip in the first half of December. Ticket prices, hours and skate rental are set by each rink, so check their sites before you go.

Also note that the code works with the last four digits of your TAP card. As a result, you should tap the same card you plan to use for the ride. GoPass students can use that same route, which helps families with college-age skaters.

Frost on 5th in Santa Monica

Frost on 5th, formerly Ice at Santa Monica, runs Nov. 5, 2026 through Jan. 18, 2027. It sits at 5th Street and Arizona Avenue, close to the Third Street Promenade. Take the E Line to Downtown Santa Monica Station, then walk north on 5th Street for a few blocks.

Pershing Square rink in downtown LA

Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square runs Nov. 12, 2026 through Jan. 3, 2027. Metro describes the 7,200-square-foot rink as the city’s largest outdoor rink. It sits right outside the exits of Pershing Square Station, which the B Line and D Line serve. From Historic Broadway Station on the A Line and E Line, the walk takes about 12 minutes.

What the ride costs

A regular adult Metro fare is $1.75 one way. You can tap a debit or credit card, or buy a plastic TAP card at Metro Rail stations. Metro also suggests the free Metro app for trip planning at metro.net. A round trip costs $3.50 before any transfers. For passes and fare caps, read our guide to LA Metro fares.
