WardrobeTrendsFashion Announces 2017 Top Fashion Schools in the World

WardrobeTrendsFashion has released its 2017 ranking of the best fashion schools in the world. The list came out on December 5, 2017. The site has published a yearly ranking of the top 100 fashion schools since 2012.

This year’s edition rests on a large survey. More than 58,000 people took part, including former students, fashion houses, recruitment consultants, designers and other industry professionals. Their answers helped shape the final order.

The team started with data on more than 300 fashion schools. It then cut that number down to a shortlist of 100. In addition, this year’s list names 10 more schools that only just missed the top 100, so readers can see who came close.

Schools were judged on three broad areas. These were the learning experience, the influence of the school and the value it offers. Within those areas, the ranking looked at annual tuition, weighed against the local cost of living. It also counted famous alumni and graduates who found good jobs, along with feedback from students and alumni.

Other measures played a part as well. Among them were the quality of the faculty, practical and business training, social life, career counseling and financial aid. Because the list covers schools in many countries, the cost-of-living check helps compare tuition in a fair way.

In its announcement, WardrobeTrendsFashion named Central Saint Martins in London at the top. Bunka Gakuen came second, while Kingston University placed third.

The ranking is meant for students who are choosing where to study fashion. Since it combines cost, reputation and the views of people who work in the industry, it gives them a wider picture than any single factor could.
