Serial Entrepreneur, Thought Leader and Co-Founder of Moz.com, Gillian Muessig Joins Stakana Analytics Board of Advisors

Stakana, Inc. has added Gillian Muessig to its advisory board. The Seattle company builds predictive customer intelligence for banks and credit unions. The appointment took effect immediately, the company said on March 6, 2018.

Muessig is best known as a co-founder of Moz, the search marketing software company. She also co-founded brettapproved, a booking site for travelers with disabilities and mobility challenges. Earlier, she worked as a technology adviser to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She has sat on company boards on four continents. She also speaks around the world about emerging startup markets and how global trends shape valuations.

Nick Simonton, chief operating officer of Stakana, said the company was delighted to have her. He called her one of the most accomplished leaders in technology. Since she has launched, grown and redirected many young companies, he added, her experience will help in Stakana’s next stage.

Muessig said the industry has reached a turning point. In her view, predictive AI and machine learning are becoming a must for smaller financial institutions. She called Stakana’s vision compelling and its products innovative. She also said she looked forward to helping the company seize the opportunity.

In practice, every Stakana product runs on the Stakana Intelligence Platform. They aim to explain how, why and what consumers decide. In turn, smaller banks and credit unions can make better marketing choices, raise engagement and spot chances with individual customers. The company has already deployed its tools at several banks and credit unions. It is also forming sales and technology partnerships with service providers.

On the board, Muessig also joins advisors Nathan Tolbert, Art Carpenter, Larry Wilson and Richard Stikane.
