Newly Awarded German Growth Champion joimax Presents New Products at DWG Stuttgart, Germany and Broadens its Education and Congress Activities

Spine surgery company joimax was recently named a German Growth Champion 2018. Now it is bringing new products to the DWG congress of the German Spine Society in Stuttgart. The meeting runs from November 30 to December 2, 2017. The company shared its plans in a release from Irvine, California, on November 30.

Two launches lead the list. The first is Camsource LED, a new camera system with CMOS sensor technology for high-resolution images. It works with the latest Vitegra Docu and Command system for visual integration. The second is a wider EndoLIF range, which now includes the EndoLIF Double-Wedge Cage for TLIF and ELIF fusion techniques. The booth will also host two lunch symposia and Meet-the-Expert talks.

Training is growing too. Recently, the company held workshops in Krasnodar, Russia, in Guadalajara, Mexico, and at Wooridul Hospital in Korea. At these sessions, surgeons learn endoscopic and other minimally invasive methods. In 2017 the company also began working with the Korean Wooridul group. According to joimax, Wooridul runs the largest network of hospitals for endoscopic spine surgery in the world. So far, four courses at different skill levels have taken place.

Founder and CEO Wolfgang Ries said surgeons show growing interest in endoscopic spine surgery, while patient demand is rising fast. That is why, he said, joimax keeps adding training programs and congress appearances.

The calendar is busy. From November 15 to 18, it showed its work at the 12th congress of the Chinese Orthopedic Association in Zhuhai, China. On November 22, faculty member Jun Seok Bae and Dinh Ngoc Son used the CESSYS system for a cervical operation in Hanoi. It was the first such surgery at Viet-Duc Hospital, the largest surgical center in Vietnam. The KOMISS symposium in Incheon, Korea, overlaps with DWG on December 1 to 3. There, the company will run a booth with two workshop stations. A workshop at the IRCAD institute in Taiwan on December 22 and 23 closes the year.

The company was founded in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2001. It develops complete systems for full-endoscopic and minimally invasive spine surgery. TESSYS, iLESSYS and CESSYS are used for decompression, while MultiZYTE treats facet and sacroiliac joint pain. EndoLIF and Percusys, by contrast, serve for stabilization. Its NAVENTO navigated tower supports all of them. These methods use small incisions and spare muscle and tissue, since surgeons work through natural openings in the spine.
