Sterling Administration has hired Michael Scallin as sales director for Sacramento, Reno and California’s Central Valley. The Oakland company announced the move on November 30, 2017. Sterling administers HSA, HRA, FSA, POP, ERISA and COBRA plans for employers.
Before joining, Scallin built his career in the employee benefits field. He has worked a great deal with general agencies, which fits his new job well.
His task is to bring in new business across the region. He will sell Sterling’s HSA, HRA, FSA, POP, COBRA and compliance products. Most of that work will run through benefits brokers and general agents rather than direct sales.
In addition, Scallin is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
Cora Tellez, Sterling’s president and CEO, said she was thrilled to have him on the team. She pointed to his leadership and his ties with brokers and general agencies. Because of those contacts, she expects him to build many new relationships for the company in his region.
Outside of work, Scallin is a keen outdoorsman. He lives in Elk Grove, California, south of Sacramento.
