New Mobile Dating App “Rescue Me Tonight” Launches on Kickstarter

A new mobile dating app called Rescue Me Tonight has launched a campaign on Kickstarter. The app comes from a father and daughter team at Rincon Strategies, LLC, which bills it as the Uber of online dating.

The idea is built around a familiar problem: the date that is going badly. Rather than sit through it, the user opens the app and sends out an SOS. Then help arrives, and the user gets a safe way out of the evening.

The pitch is short. Log on, send the SOS and be rescued. That is why the team compares it to Uber, since the service is meant to work on demand, with a tap on the phone, while the user is still out.

Kickstarter lets inventors and small companies raise money from the public before a product goes on sale. Backers pledge support to a project, and the creators use those funds to build it. For Rescue Me Tonight, the campaign is the first public step toward bringing the app to users.

The launch was later noted by Global Dating Insights, a trade publication that follows the online dating industry, in its startup roundups for February and March 2018.
