Caltrans closes lanes, connectors and ramps on SR-91 overnight from Cerritos to Gardena, starting Monday, Nov. 2, and running through Friday, Nov. 6. The SR-91 ramp closures also continue Friday night into Saturday morning, Nov. 7, with longer hours.
The work belongs to a sign rehabilitation project. Crews are doing curb, gutter and sidewalk work, striping and excavation, so some closures may roll from one location to the next.
Lane closures on SR-91
Eastbound, Caltrans plans to close up to three lanes from Vermont Avenue to I-710 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. From I-710 to I-605 the closure runs 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and from I-605 to the Orange County line it runs 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Westbound, up to three lanes close from Atlantic Avenue to Vermont Avenue from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Between I-605 and Atlantic Avenue the hours are 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Up to two lanes close from the Orange County line to I-605, from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m. Caltrans says it reduces each direction to two lanes overnight in the work zone, according to its District 7 notice.
SR-91 ramp closures and connectors
Two ramps are closed for bridge railing and demolition work. The westbound SR-91 off-ramp at Alameda Street and Santa Fe Avenue in Compton is closed, and so are the westbound on- and off-ramps at Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach. Detour routes will be marked.
Other connectors may close during work hours. For example, the eastbound SR-91 connector to southbound I-110 can close from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and the southbound I-605 connector to westbound SR-91 can close from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Several eastbound on-ramps, including Alameda Street, Long Beach Boulevard and Paramount Boulevard, may also close from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Westbound Main Street and Central Avenue on-ramps may close at the same hours.
Friday night and what to do
On Friday night, Nov. 6, through Saturday morning, Nov. 7, the closures run longer. Up to three eastbound lanes from Vermont Avenue to I-710 close from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. Because every closure is subject to change, drivers should check Caltrans QuickMap before heading out.
Earlier weeks followed the same pattern, as we reported in our SR-91 closures for Oct. 26-31. For more road news, see our Los Angeles and California guide. All times are as of Nov. 3, 2026, and the schedule depends on weather and crew progress.
