The LA28 slogan is “Stars Align,” the organizing committee announced on Oct. 28, 2026, in an official LA28 release. It will appear on campaigns for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, and a 60-second film launched worldwide the same day.
LA28 says the idea is that the stars align when dedication meets a generational moment. The line also nods to Hollywood, so it fits the city. It sits next to the official mottos of the Games rather than replacing them.
What the LA28 slogan comes with
The film runs to the Red Hot Chili Peppers song “Can’t Stop.” It shows places like the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory, along with golden-hour skies and the city’s communities. Fans can watch it on LA28.org, LA28 social channels, and the IOC and IPC platforms.
Casey Wasserman, LA28 chairperson and president, said in the release: “We can’t wait for the stars to align in 2028 so we can share this moment with everyone.” Chief Marketing Officer Alex Merchán called the film “just the spark for what’s to come,” so more campaign material should follow. LA28 has not published a schedule for it.
Each host committee picks its own slogan. Rio 2016 used “A New World,” Tokyo 2020 used “United by Emotion,” and Paris 2024 used “Games Wide Open,” according to LA28. The Olympic motto stays “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together,” and the Paralympic motto stays “Change Starts with Sport.”
Key dates for the 2028 Games
The Olympic Opening Ceremony is set for July 14, 2028, and competition runs through July 30. However, some early sports begin on July 12, according to NBC Los Angeles. The Paralympic Games then open on Aug. 15 and close on Aug. 27, 2028.
As of Oct. 30, 2026, the Games are about 20 months away. For residents, the slogan itself changes nothing about tickets, transit or venues. Still, it will likely show up on banners, merchandise and sponsor ads as the date gets closer. For more on local teams and the Games, see our health and sports hub.
What to watch next
LA28 says the film is the first step of a rollout across Olympic and Paralympic channels. Details on ticketing, venues and transportation come from separate announcements. We will cover those when LA28, the city or the county publish them.
