Learning technology company Webanywhere has won a gold award in the Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Technology Awards. The prize recognizes its work with JetBlue Airways on MyDegree, a platform built for the airline’s JetBlue Scholars program.
MyDegree is a learning management system built on Totara. It brings together self-study courses, quizzes, assessments and exams from several providers, all approved by JetBlue. Because of that, students can earn college credit toward a growing list of degrees. The system also offers custom degree paths and degree enrollment, among other features.
Sean Gilligan, the founder and CEO of Webanywhere, said the team was very pleased with the gold. He pointed out that Brandon Hall is among the most respected awards in learning technology. The company will keep partnering with clients as they grow, he added, while the JetBlue award confirms its focus on customer success and innovation.
The program’s results are strong. Among those enrolled in JetBlue Scholars, 85% say they feel more engaged at work. Meanwhile, 96% say the program makes them more committed to staying at JetBlue. More than 90% would recommend it to colleagues, and it has a Net Promoter Score of 87. For comparison, the highest customer Net Promoter Score in the United States as of 2013 was 80.
MyDegree does more than gather courses in one place, though. It also makes it easy for Scholars to talk with their Success Coaches. These coaches are fellow JetBlue employees, and some are Scholars themselves, so the platform helps build a working relationship between the two.
The Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards are now in their 23rd year. Learning, talent and business executives often call them the Academy Awards of the field. The program started in 1994, when it was one of the first of its kind in the learning industry.
