Trinity Dental Centers is Donating 10,000 Masks

Trinity Dental Centers is giving away 10,000 face masks in Houston. The goal is to keep residents safe while slowing the novel coronavirus. The donation was announced on April 29, 2020, and the news went out on May 1.

Anyone can pick up masks at any of the group’s 13 dental centers during business hours. To reach as many people as possible, each person is limited to two masks.

The dental group says it invests in the community through caring, affordable dentistry that helps people get the most out of their general health. Dr. Amjad Sheikh founded and owns Trinity Dental Centers. In times like these, he said, the team is worried about the safety of the community, its patients and its staff. He added that the giveaway will put protective items within reach of local people.

The timing is practical. Houston has begun partly reopening stores, malls, restaurants, movie theaters, libraries and state parks. Meanwhile, masks are now mandatory for everyone there to limit COVID-19.

The CDC recommends cloth face coverings in public places where distancing is hard, such as grocery stores and pharmacies. That advice matters most when community spread is significant. Current studies suggest that people without symptoms can still pass on the virus. Because of that, cloth face covers are an effective way to reduce new infections.

So anyone who needs masks can simply stop by a Trinity Dental practice.
