Tellius Launches Genius AI Engine to Transform Business Analytics at Gartner’s Data & Analytics Summit 2018

Tellius, a business analytics platform based in Reston, Virginia, has launched its Genius AI Engine. The company announced the product on March 5, 2018, timing the debut to Gartner’s Data & Analytics Summit.

Tellius describes the engine as an intelligence layer for business analytics. It is meant for business users, analysts and citizen data scientists. Because they share one interface, advanced analysis comes within reach of more people.

The engine has three main parts. First, it automatically discovers patterns, trends and anomalies in a company’s data, so users do not have to hunt for them by hand. Second, it offers natural language search. As people type a question, the search suggests terms, and it understands metadata, synonyms and even data values in the query.

Third, the engine includes automated machine learning. It tests several algorithms and tunes them, which means users who are not data scientists can still build predictive models.

The launch came only days after a funding round. On March 2, 2018, Tellius said it had raised $7.5 million in Series A financing led by Veraz Investments. At the time, Tellius said its platform combined natural language search, automated insight discovery and predictive analytics.

Ajay Khanna is the founder and chief executive of Tellius. Before starting the company, he was chief technology officer and a founding member of Celcite, a telecom analytics firm that Amdocs later acquired.
