AITHEON, a company that calls itself a leader in artificial intelligence, opened a worldwide token presale on January 18, 2018. The news came in Miami at the North American Blockchain Conference, which started that day. The event drew thousands of blockchain founders, experienced investors and traders.
The company describes its work as a mix of blockchain, AI and distributed robotics. Its stated goal is a new era of collective intelligence, in which humans and robots work side by side.
In practice, Aitheon is building a digital ecosystem meant to make life simpler through that partnership. Remote professionals on its network help the company’s own AI algorithms carry out a range of business tasks. Their work stays anonymous, since results are pooled and ranked by consensus algorithms. As a result, the company says it reaches 99.99% accuracy while clients also remain anonymous.
Business processes are automated in three ways. There are physical robots, called Mech-Bots, and electronic devices. There are virtual robots, known as digibots. And there are people who work alongside all of these machines. Prominent AI experts back the project, according to the company.
Users get a real say as well. Through an empowerment program, community voting blocks let people steer development and the company’s future in almost every area. That approach, Aitheon says, gives users a sense of ownership and helps the whole ecosystem grow.
Founder and CEO Andrew Archer, who designed the system, was the first speaker at the Miami conference that morning. He said people start businesses to share their passions. Today, however, owners get buried in back-end processes, which keeps them from using the very talents they set out to share. Back-office management is slow and complicated, he added, because it needs a separate system for each task. Aitheon wants to change that.
Two more programs widen the circle. The Creators Program invites innovators to design new digibots, mechbots and tools for the platform. Meanwhile, the Pilots Program lets technicians supervise and remotely operate robots anywhere in the world to keep them working properly.
The presale runs until January 31, 2018. During that time, registered program members and AIC token holders can learn about the products and test how they work. Over the following weeks, the company plans to reveal its full product line, along with partnership deals with major industrial firms.
Archer is a serial entrepreneur focused on AI. His team includes specialists in autonomous systems, IT, robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning. A recent TED Talk described him as a creator of disruptive technology. The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy also said that more entrepreneurs like him could spark a bottom-up revival of American manufacturing.
