Plexus Worldwide, a direct-selling health and wellness company, has given $10,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital through the annual Give-A-Thon run by KTAR News and Arizona Sports. The company announced the gift on August 28, 2020. Every dollar goes to the hospital’s Hope Fund. That fund pays for new research, advanced technology and the hiring of top physicians. It also supports child-friendly programs and services that make a hospital stay easier for young patients.
Mary Ann Luciano, the company’s VP of Philanthropy, said its mission of health and happiness fits well with the work Phoenix Children’s does for kids. She noted that this was the first year Plexus took part in the Give-A-Thon. Many team members enjoy events with the hospital, she added, because their own children have received its world-class care.
The Give-A-Thon takes place every year, though 2020 was unusual. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, Arizona donors set a record this time, raising $1.9 million during the event. Now in its twentieth year, the drive has brought in more than $25 million for the hospital.
Tim Harrison, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Special Events at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, said the hospital is deeply grateful for the partnership and for the company’s ongoing commitment to the community and its children. That support, he said, lets the hospital keep delivering world-class care to the families who depend on it.
Plexus Worldwide, LLC sells health and wellness products meant to help people improve their lives and well-being.
