KanBo Wins Best Office 365 Award at European SharePoint Conference

KanBo, an enterprise software provider, has won the Best Office 365 Add-In award at the European SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure Conference, known as ESPC. The event took place in Dublin, Ireland, from November 13 to 16, 2017. The company then announced the win from Berlin on November 20.

The conference was in its sixth year. Its Community Awards honor excellence and new ideas across the European SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure community. KanBo made the shortlist in three categories: Best Management Solution, Most Innovative SharePoint Solution and Best Office 365 Add-In. It took the last one with an entry called Extending Portfolio Management for Office 365.

This is not KanBo’s first ESPC trophy. Back in 2014, it won an award in the social category at the same conference.

CEO Michal Sobotkiewicz said the team was delighted to collect another major ESPC award. In his view, the win shows that KanBo meets a real need for groups that use SharePoint and Microsoft Teams. That need, he said, also exists in the Office 365 cloud, not only on in-house servers. He added that KanBo is more than a simple productivity plug-in, since it adds fine-grained access and context to project and knowledge work.

The product uses Kanban lists and cards to hold work activities and conversations. As a result, each action sits inside the project, task or discussion it belongs to. Users are managed through Azure Active Directory, while security relies on the permissions already built into SharePoint.

Since it works with any Office 365 plan, KanBo fits a small business as well as a global enterprise. It runs as a SharePoint app and as an Azure Active Directory app. It can also tap the Office Graph API and the web services of SharePoint, Exchange, Outlook, Skype, OneDrive and Active Directory. Data also flows both ways with PowerApps and Flow.

The company planned a free public demo of KanBo with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams for November 22, 2017. KanBo was founded in 2010, and the firm behind it, ObjectConnect, builds secure products for work management and collaboration. Since then, hundreds of clients around the world have put it to use.
