Voyeur, a dramatic short film, is now available to watch online. The story is emotionally explicit, and it grows out of events that really happened.
Stephanie Arapian dedicated the film to her father. He was diagnosed with lung cancer late last year, so the project is a personal one for her.
Arapian comes from Germantown, Maryland. Before she trained as an actor, she spent five years teaching English in China and Germany. She later completed an MFA at East 15 Acting School in London.
Voyeur is not her only work in progress, though. Her original pilot, Waystation, placed in two screenwriting contests. It is slated to go into production in 2018.
The short comes from Shatter Glass Films, an independent production company based in Los Angeles. The company says it wants to make work that breaks through invisible barriers while it builds human connection. That mission fits a film rooted in one family’s experience with illness.
