Elizabeth A. Frost, MD, Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who

Marquis Who’s Who has presented Elizabeth A. Frost, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor is reserved for people profiled by Marquis who have shown both career longevity and steady excellence in their fields.

Dr. Frost is an anesthesiologist with more than 50 years of experience. She serves as a clinical professor of anesthesiology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Before that, she worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New York City and at New York Medical College.

Her path into medicine began in Scotland. She earned her medical degree at the University of Glasgow in 1961. After that, she completed residencies in internal medicine and in anesthesiology in New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Frost has also written a great deal. She is credited with more than 20 books on anesthesiology and about 150 research articles. In addition, she has served as editor-in-chief of the journal Topics in Pain Management.

Her colleagues have recognized her work as well. She has received a distinguished service award from the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists. She has also been honored by the Society of Neurosurgical Anesthesia and Neurological Support Care.

The lifetime achievement award now adds to that list. While Marquis profiles many professionals, it gives this honor only to those whose careers it sees as both long and consistently strong, which is why it stands apart from a standard listing.
