Coveo AI-Powered Search, Analytics and Recommendations Stack Now Available on Elasticsearch

Coveo has made its AI-powered search, analytics and recommendations products available on Elasticsearch, the open-source index. The company announced general availability in February 2018. Coveo now runs on top of Elasticsearch, whether a customer hosts the index itself or uses a cloud version.

The combination brings several tools to Elasticsearch users. They include content connectivity, user interface configuration, search analytics and reporting, and central administration. Coveo also adds automatic tuning, which learns from behavioral analytics and machine learning, so results keep improving without manual work.

Gauthier Robe, Vice President of Platform at Coveo, described the company’s mission as helping everyone build relevant, unified experiences at scale. Because Coveo now runs on Elasticsearch, customers keep the index’s scalability and flexibility, he explained. At the same time, they gain Coveo’s ready-made connectors, machine-learning relevance and ease of use. As a result, partners and customers can build new solutions quickly.

Perficient, a digital transformation consulting firm, was an early adopter of Coveo on Elasticsearch. Eric Immermann, Director of Search at Perficient, said his team already worked with both Coveo and Elastic. In his view, Coveo’s relevance on top of an open, scalable index helps clients serve more personal and connected information.

For companies that already run Elasticsearch, the move means they can add Coveo’s features while keeping the index they use today.
