TORONTO–(Marketwired – December 19, 2017) – It's the most wonderful time of the year and Family Channel is celebrating with holiday programming all Decem-brrr long! This month's jolly-filled lineup features holiday-themed episodes from the network's top series, tree-mendous movies for the entire family, including three Peanuts specials, and two full days of uninterrupted holiday programming on Christmas and New Year's Day! For those looking to swap their Christmas trees for palm trees, Family Channel is teaming up with Air Transat to offer viewers the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime family vacation with the Fun & Sun Contest.

Open now until Sunday, January 14, Family Channel's Fun & Sun Contest offers viewers the chance to beat the cold with an Air Transat all-inclusive vacation for four to the Barceló Maya Colonial Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Families can enter to win by visiting Family.ca and submitting a photo or video that shows what makes their family fun and unique. In addition to the grand prize, the most entertaining entries could be chosen to air on the network beginning this upcoming Family Day!

Throughout December, holiday-themed programming will be jingling all over the network. Featured in the festivities are the network premieres of three beloved Peanuts winter classics:

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas Friday, December 22 at 6 p.m. ET/PT: With psychiatric advice from his good friend Lucy, Charlie Brown sets off to find the “perfect” Christmas tree to uplift his sorrowful mood for the holidays.

Plus, families can grab their hot cocoa and cuddle up on the couch for festive flicks, including: Jingle All the Way, Elf, The National Tree, Nativity!, Switchmas, Get Santa, Bob's Broken Sleigh, How Murray Saved Christmas, Home Alone, Hank Zipzer's Christmas Catastrophe and more!

The merriment continues beyond Christmas with amazing movies and marathons airing daily throughout the rest of the break. The post-Christmas excitement begins on Tuesday, December 26 at 9 a.m. ET/PT with a Boxing Day marathon from Top Chef Jr. featuring eight back-to-back episodes of the high-stakes competition. As an extra-special gift, Family Channel will air two full days of uninterrupted programming on Christmas and New Year's Day.
