Glass Jacobson Financial Group is awarded its seventh-straight Top Workplace award by The Baltimore Sun Media Group

Press Release updated: Dec 19, 2017 07:07 EST

OWINGS MILLS, Md., December 19, 2017 – Glass Jacobson Financial Group has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by The Baltimore Sun Media Group for the seventh year in a row. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by Energage LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution and connection, just to name a few.

“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits,” says Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day — the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there and the feeling that everyone is in it together.” Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”

To be awarded this honor seven years in a row is recognition of the culture that has been cultivated at Glass Jacobson Financial Group. “The most valuable asset of our company is our employees,” says Ed Jacobson, CEO of Glass Jacobson Financial Group. “Our goal is to empower each employee to reach their fullest potential. We give our employees a lot of responsibility and autonomy, which breeds an entrepreneurial culture.” Glass Jacobson continues to grow and expand with recent acquisitions in the D.C. and Baltimore area.

The most valuable asset of our company is our employees.

Brad grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. He studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married his wife one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children.
