I believe in the power of a thank you note and always make sure my kids write them. But, too often it takes forever and the kids really push back. thankr makes it easy and fun. So it’s a win-win for everyone.

PITTSBURGH

The research is clear: expressing gratitude is good for you! With that in mind, two Pittsburgh based female entrepreneurs have created thankr, a free app that makes it easy to send a personalized thank you video or photo to one person or 100.

“It feels good to thank and be thanked,” thankr co-creator Danielle Gillespie said. “It got me thinking, what if we could show more appreciation for all the big and little things others do in a fun and easy way?” With that, thankr was born.

thankr is free and available at the Apple App Store and Google Play. Once downloaded to your mobile device, users can make a thank you video or photo that’s personal, funny, silly or sincere. A selection of templates is available in order to make your expression even more unique.

Corporate gratitude is easy too. Companies can upload their logo and images and create a custom template that reflects their brand and messaging. Several business organizations are looking to thankr as a new marketing tool, using it to thank clients and prospective leads. Corporate, customized templates are on deck for these users.

With Thanksgiving and the holidays right around the corner, the apps’ creators anticipate a surge in downloads, particularly from parents who dislike nudging their children to write thank you notes.

“I believe in the power of a thank you note and always make sure my kids write them,” explained Beth Pyle, thankr’s other co-creator. “But too often it takes forever and the kids really push back. thankr makes it easy and fun. So it’s a win-win for everyone.”
