Susan Mengel Celebrates Decades of Industry Experience in Computer Science Education

    LUBBOCK, TX, November 08, 2017 — Susan Mengel has been included in Marquis Who's Who. For many years, Dr. Mengel has served as an associate professor in computer science at Texas Tech University. Over the years, she has taught such courses as data structures, software engineering levels one and two, special topics on information security, and the analysis of algorithms, as well as many others. At the start of her career, she joined Central State University, and has since worked with Oklahoma State University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Arkansas. Additionally, Dr. Mengel has served in a consulting role for Scott Laboratories, and as a principal investigator and co-principal investigator on numerous grants.

A graduate of Central Oklahoma University, Oklahoma State University, and Texas A&M University, Dr. Mengel holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a PhD in Computer Science. In order to remain active and engaged among her professional circles, she affiliates herself with the IEEE, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Association for Computing Machinery. Throughout her career, she has contributed to a number of publications, including the Journal of Systems and Software, IEEE Transactions on Education, and the Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education.

Noted as a leader in her industry, Dr. Mengel has served on a number of panels, and written a plethora of technical reports, and conference publications. An expert in the field of artificial intelligence, she has also won many awards for her professional accomplishments, including the honor of Outreach Chair Elect for the 2018 Fiscal Year through the Society of Women Engineers.
