Sung-Hee Roh Recognized by Marquis Who’s Who for Excellence in Education

    GWANGJU, REPUBLIC OF KOREA, November 10, 2017 — Sung-Hee Roh has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Roh has been a professor with Chosun University since 2014, concurrently with other roles in the technologically evolving industries of The Republic of Korea. Since 2015, she has served as a technical advisor with the Korea Environment Corporation, affiliated with the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Environment. The company encourages international ecological projects through resource recycling and other nationwide works in climate, air, water, soil, waste treatment, resource circulation and environmental health. In 2017, she became the president of the E-Won Company in the Republic of Korea.

After earning a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Chosun University in 2005, Dr. Roh began researching membrane separation process, biomass energy conversion technology and renewable energy systems. She is currently working on the investigation of novel and eco-friendly materials for microbial fuel cell application. In February of 2016, she was part of a team that studied the effect of nano-morphology modification using an amphiphilic polymer on the proton conductivity of a composite membrane. She has also worked with teams on regenerative fuel cells, graphitized carbon, and low permeable composite membranes for redox flow batteries. She collaborates with scientists at Chonnam National University and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

Dr. Roh's work has been published in numerous industry journals, such as the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, the Journal of Materials Science Materials in Electricity, the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews. She is part of a burgeoning generation of scientists whose mission is to help humans transition away from fossil fuels and toward a sustainable energy future.

Brad grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. He studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married his wife one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life.
