IoT Lab is a platform where students will design and develop “smart” home appliances and other physical devices embedded with software. The laboratory has been fully renovated and most of the equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators, has already been bought. It will hold 14 workplaces, where students will focus on studying the basics of developing Internet of Things devices. A second laboratory is planned for the future. It will be used to actually build these devices, from the project stage to a ready to use prototype.
At the moment the laboratory is in the final stages of buying equipment and is projected to open in December 2017.
