PROSPER, Texas, Dec. 18, 2017 — Penske Motor Group (PMG) marked its expansion into Texas with Longo Toyota of Prosper opening its doors for business in early December, and the hiring of more than 60 new team members from the North Dallas area.

The all-new Longo Toyota of Prosper opens it's doors with it's brand new team!

“We look forward to serving the Town of Prosper and the communities of North Dallas, bringing our long-standing philosophy of great guest service to this area,” said Greg Penske, chairman & CEO of Penske Motor Group. “We are also grateful for the long-term partnership we have with Toyota, and look forward to working alongside other Toyota dealers in the Dallas Fort-Worth area to proudly represent the brand.”

Located at 2100 W. University Drive on US 380 just West of the Dallas North Tollway, the new Toyota dealership, constructed by Prosper-based Crossland Construction, sits on 15 acres and spans nearly 61,000 square feet. Site work on the facility began in October 2016 and the first piece of steel for the building was raised on March 21, 2017. Now complete, the open and transparent dealership was designed with guests in mind and includes many state-of-the-art amenities, including:

  • Guest lounge with complimentary beverages, snacks, Wi-Fi, and charging stations at every seat
  • Glass viewing area so guests can watch their vehicles be serviced
  • Business center with complimentary guest personal computers so guests can continue to work while waiting for their vehicles to be serviced
  • Children's play area and gaming center
  • Tire Center
  • Toyota Express Maintenance Center
  • Parts and Accessories Center
  • A Wellness center for its Team Members

“We congratulate Penske Motor Group on the opening of Longo Toyota of Prosper,” said Jeff Parent, president of Gulf States Toyota. “We have no doubt they will continue their tradition of excellent guest service.”

To celebrate the dealership's opening, Penske Motor Group and Toyota hosted an intimate ribbon cutting ceremony early this month, which was attended by members of the Prosper and Frisco Chambers of Commerce and local leaders.

“We are excited to have Penske Motor Group and Longo Toyota of Prosper as part of our community,” said Ray Smith, Mayor of the Town of Prosper. “Their values of high integrity, respect, and teamwork are very much aligned with the values of our Town. On behalf of the Town of Prosper, I wish them great success.”

At the ribbon cutting event, the dealership presented the two Prosper Independent School District (ISD) 'Teacher of the Year' recipients with a 2018 Toyota Camry to drive for the next year, courtesy of Longo Toyota of Prosper.

“One of our key values is supporting the communities in which we live and operate. We couldn't be more excited to recognize and reward the Prosper ISD Teachers of the Year for their success by providing new Camrys to drive,” said Kara Brinley, vice president & general manager at Longo Toyota of Prosper.

Although Longo Toyota of Prosper is Penske Motor Group's first retail automotive dealership in Texas, the Penske family of companies is no stranger to the Dallas market.  Through its affiliates, the Penske family of companies has more than 1,100 team members and business partners in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.

PMG opened Longo Toyota of Prosper on the same day that it celebrated the 50th anniversary of its flagship dealership – Longo Toyota in El Monte, California – and Longo's 50th consecutive year as the No. 1 Toyota dealership in the world.

The name Longo comes from the original owner of Longo Toyota – Mr. Dominic Longo – who passed away in 1985.  The Penske family purchased the dealership from the Longo family that year and has owned it ever since while retaining the Longo name.  Longo Toyota has sold over 850,000 new and used vehicles during the time the Penske family has owned it.  Please click on the link below to learn more about the history of Longo Toyota.
