Matson website offer mobile-responsive interface to its clients
“We need to help our clients stay ahead of their customers’ digital communication needs.”Ken O'Donnell, CEO KO Websites

KO Websites has completed a new WordPress website for Matson Navigation, Truck, Rail & Logistics. As the Pacific’s leading shipping company, Matson has a responsibility to provide a high quality website that serves their customers with a wide range of features. To achieve that, Matson teamed up with KO-Websites to create a brand new mobile-responsive website that makes working with Matson easy for their clients: Attractive, easy to navigate, and simple to update.
“We need to help our clients stay ahead of their customers’ digital communication needs,” said Ken O’Donnell, CEO of KO Websites. “Using the new website design and tools, Matson can respond quickly and answer questions and resolve issues in real time.”
O’Donnell noted that Matson selected KO Websites as their website design and development vendor for three reasons: “We have a reliable reputation. We are local and can work closely with them. And, we share a passion for transportation and have great familiarity with the Pacific ocean region.”
The launch of Matson’s new website makes information more easily accessible to mobile users, allowing them to quickly navigate the site’s 240+ pages. KO Websites has meticulously designed each page to be user friendly, using a range of plugins and features available to WordPress website designers, as well as incorporating some custom designed Matson IT plugins.
Matson has two distinct divisions: Shipping and Logistics. Matson Logistics and Matson Shipping divisions now each have their own separate menus to allow for easy navigation to pages related to each side of the business. KO Website’s solution integrates these two separate divisions of Matson's business into the new website to make it easy for site users to find the information they need as efficiently as possible.
Matson also requested an interactive shipping route map. KO Websites combined different plug-ins to create a new map with clickable routes that the carriers take to reach their destinations, and also clickable port icons to provide links to information about the regional ports.
Unique features of the newly redesigned, mobile-friendly website include:
Ocean shipment tracking
Access to investor relations information
Various tools for online orders and communications
Free mobile app downloads
Online cameras that present live updates on gate activity at ports they serve
Interactive maps which provide links to pertinent pages containing port and route information
“Matson’s new mobile-friendly WordPress website from KO Websites delivers the desired appearance, ease of navigation, and incorporation of all the tools and information that Matson’s shipping and logistics clients needed and wanted from the website redesign,” concludes Wagner.
