GUNTER, TX – 12-19-2017 (Press Release Jet) — After winning the 3A State Football Championship in 2016, Gunter will be playing for back-to-back State Championships when they face Newton on Thursday night, December 21, at AT&T Stadium. As the Tigers prepare for the 2017 state championship game, Symmetry Turf will begin work to totally change the look of their home field, Tiger Stadium.
This spring, Tiger Stadium’s natural grass field will be converted to Symmetry Genesis® artificial turf. Symmetry’s Genesis® line represents the pinnacle of quality, performance and safety that the industry has to offer. In addition, the existing track will be replaced with a Symmetry Revelation® track system.
“The work that Symmetry is about to do for Gunter ISD will be a game-changer for our students,” stated Gunter ISD superintendent Dr. Jill Siler. “We have not been able to host a varsity track meet in years because our track is in such poor condition. Doing the turf field in conjunction with the track will give our students a green space they can use 365 days a year which will be incredible for all of our athletic programs, bands and cheerleaders.”
Gunter is in one of the fastest growing areas in the state of Texas, directly North of thriving communities in Prosper and Celina.
“We are extremely excited to make these much-needed improvements to our track and football field,” said Kelly Teems, assistant superintendent. “The decision to turf the field and replace our track was a student-centered decision. The turf field will be a much safer surface than the current field we are playing on in terms of concussion prevention. We are continually striving to improve our facilities in every possible area to accommodate our students’ needs in our growing school district.”
“The decision to go with Symmetry was an easy one. They not only offer a top-notch product, they have a proven track record of building strong, lasting relationships with their clients. Their commitment to service and customer satisfaction is second to none.”
Symmetry Turf is an industry leader in sports construction and has a stellar reputation for quality and service. With 7 NFL field installations and numerous NCAA Division 1 projects on its resume, Symmetry is the clear choice for clients with a commitment to quality.
“We are honored by Gunter ISD’s decision to partner with us on this important project” stated Jason Bell, President of Symmetry Turf. “Dr. Siler and her staff at Gunter ISD are incredible to work with. They have a solid commitment to their students, and they prove it with advancements in safety and performance like these upgrades to their sports facilities. We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with Gunter ISD.”
