Pottstown, PA — 11/17/2017 — Community Health & Dental Care, the premier family health center serving Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, is doing their part by participating in Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month. Aside from Movember and No-shave November, the month of November is also Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month.

According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, diabetic eye disease affects over five million Americans ages 18 and older. Even worse, approximately 29 million Americans ages 20 and older have diabetes, but an estimated one-third are not aware they have the disease. This puts millions of American at risk for vision loss and other health issues.

Early symptoms can be extremely difficult to detect. However, a routine eye exam can help spot signs of the disease and will allow doctors to treat the disease before severe eyesight loss occurs. Anyone who experiences blurred vision in just one eye that lasts more than a few days and is not associated with a mild change in blood sugar should contact Community Health & Dental immediately.

Community Health & Dental Care specializes in an array of health services ranging from on-site laboratory services, flu shots, family medical services and women's health exams to dental care, preventive screenings, childhood immunizations and even offers same-day appointments.

Community Health & Dental Care also accepts most major medical insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid. They even offer discounts to underinsured and qualified uninsured patients.

Brad Bennett

Brad grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. He studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married his wife one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children.
