Budds’ Mazda Joins Toys for Tots to Help Bring the Joy of Christmas to Needy Children

Budds’ Mazda has joined the Halton Regional Police Service Toys for Tots program to help give children of families in need the Christmas they deserve. The hallmark of the program is to “bring the joy of Christmas to needy children” and deliver a message of hope that builds self-esteem, and motivates children to grow into responsible productive citizens and leaders of the community. 

Each year, off-duty uniform and civilian employees of the Halton Regional Police Service, local businesses, schools and sports organizations give their time and resources in support of the programs continued success.In 2016 the Toys for Tots program raised more than $248,810 in toys, gift cards, cash, and food for 4,350 local families in need. 

Budds’ Mazda is inviting staff and clients to get involved by collecting new, unwrapped toys, cash, gift cards for teens, or Canadian Tire money, as gifts for not only young children, but older children and young adults as well. Budds’ Mazda and their staff look forward to putting a smile on the face of children of all ages during this holiday season. 

Toys for Tots offers the following ideas for 10-16 year olds, as they want to make sure children of all ages experience the joy of Christmas:

• Gift cards in $20 and $25 denominations for popular stores such as:
– Malls, Walmart, Zellers
– Chapters/Indigo
– Tim Hortons, Pizza Pizza
– Shoppers Drug Mart
– Movie theatres, Apple Music Store
• School supplies: pens, paper, teen backpacks, and zipper binders
• Electronics: MP3 players and iPods
• Sports equipment: soccer balls, basketballs, etc.
• Clothing: socks, underwear, white t-shirts and pajamas (in youth medium/large and adult
small sizes)
• Jewelry: earrings, bracelets, necklaces
• Make-up: eye shadow, lipstick, mascara, nail polish
• Hair accessories: straighteners, blow dryers, hair clips, barrettes, and hair bands
• Personal hygiene items: gift baskets of soaps, sprays, perfumes, shampoo, conditioner,
hairspray/gel

To donate, simply drop by Budds’ Mazda dealership with a new, unwrapped gift or donation. You are welcome to place your gift in the “Toy Box” in the show room, or visit reception to drop off smaller things like gift cards.
