Chicago, IL December 19, 2017 – AmpliVox Sound Systems is proud to have been recognized with a Gold Award in the 2017 ASTOR Homeland Security Awards, sponsored by American Security Today magazine. AmpliVox’s Mity-Lite Plus Portable PA System was honored in the category for Best Risk/Crisis Management Solution. AmpliVox previously was an ASTOR winner in 2016, when its Radio Hailer was named Best Disaster Preparedness/Disaster Recovery System.

Portable sound systems are essential tool for SWAT teams, fire departments, and other emergency responders to have on hand in unpredictable public safety situations. Disasters caused by weather, natural events, or violence often disrupt standard communication lines. Portable sound systems enable response teams to direct crowds, coordinate efforts, and perform other vital communication functions under any conditions.

AmpliVox’s SW320 Mity-Lite Plus is a highly portable 40-watt PA system that sets up in moments and provides clear sound in spaces up to 1500 square feet. Weighing only eight pounds, it can be set on a tripod, worn on a shoulder strap, or simply carried for use anywhere. It includes two digital 2.4 GHz wireless microphone receivers, as well as a wireless handheld mic that conveniently stores in the handle of the unit when not in use. Additional handheld, headset, and pendant wireless mics are available in bundle packages for extra savings. It includes Bluetooth compatibility for streaming music from smartphones and other devices.

The Mity-Lite Plus Portable PA operates on AC power or on its built-in rechargeable battery, with a run time of up to eight hours and a battery status indicator light. It is also equipped with an intelligent charging system allowing the battery to recharge while in use with the AC power source.

With its portability and versatility, the SW320 Mity-Lite Plus fits a wide variety of sound system needs, including emergency response, public safety, education, recreation, and business presentations.

“We are honored to be recognized for the second year in a row by American Security Today,” notes Don Roth, CEO of AmpliVox. “We know that excellent communication is essential to effective crisis management. All our emergency sound products are designed to help responders clearly communicate with each other and with civilians under their responsibility, which helps maintain order and save lives.”
