ROHNERT PARK, Calif., March 14, 2018 – Ameritech Financial, a document preparation company that assists student loan borrowers, is headquartered in Sonoma County, California, and looks forward to increasing community involvement and philanthropic efforts in the coming months and years. During the holidays, an office-wide food drive kicked community giving into high gear as employees collected over 1,800 pounds of food for needy residents in the Sonoma County area. That holiday effort was just the beginning of bigger plans for philanthropic efforts.

â€œAs our business has grown, we’ve realized our responsibility to support our community has grown,â€ said Tom Knickerbocker, Executive Vice President of Ameritech Financial. “We also have a lot of people on our team, including our leadership, who grew up here and are raising families here, so our stake in the community is big.â€

Ameritech Financial has a strong pool of local professionals who assist student loan borrowers in applying for and recertifying enrollment in federal programs that potentially lower their student loan payments.

As our business has grown, we've realized our responsibility to support our community has grown.

Tom Knickerbocker

Executive Vice President, Ameritech Financial

As the company strengthens and grows its business, Ameritech Financial is positioning itself to take on new philanthropic fundraising and community support challenges. Next up: team members will be participating in the 2018 Sonoma County Human Race, an event that benefits local organizations and one of the biggest non-profit fundraising efforts in the region.

While contributing to Sonoma County-based non-profit organizations is critical after the devastating fires in the autumn of 2017, Ameritech Financial’s efforts are not intended to stay just in the surrounding region. The company will be looking toward national and global giving opportunities.

“As Ameritech Financial expands, our vision for our philanthropic impact will likely change, said Knickerbocker. “But we will always be interested in what our local community needs and how we can help make it happen.

Brad Bennett

Brad grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. He studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married his wife one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children.
