First Opinion, Inc. announced today it has acquired Incente, LLC, a behavioral health technology company based in Hanover, NH. In addition to the acquisition, First Opinion also announced the formation of a new business unit called Voi (http://voi.com). Voi will add Incente’s offerings to its existing technologies to help organizations detect and prevent suicide.

Incente was created by clinical psychologists and professors at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. Incente’s software platform, Proxi (http://proxi.care), was designed to provide easy access to and completion of behavioral health assessments. In addition, it enables online collaboration and connection between someone suffering with a behavioral health disorder and his/her family, friends, behavioral health coaches and clinicians. It was a finalist for the Mobileys Award – an annual competition that challenges innovators across the U.S. to create game changing apps, products, and services – and was a finalist for the 2016 New Hampshire Social Innovation Challenge.

Voi partners with healthcare providers and organizations to detect and prevent suicide using advanced technology tools. Its primary product, Voi Detect, can generate a real-time risk score for individuals and provide advanced analytics to monitor and track operational and compliance metrics, which ultimately leads to saving lives.

“Bill and his team are the experts in this area of behavioral health and with them on board we can really save some lives,” said McKay Thomas, co-founder and CEO of First Opinion.

“With First Opinion’s acquisition of Incente, Voi is poised to transform the delivery of mental health through technology, analytics, behavioral health expertise and community building,” said Bill Hudenko, PhD, assistant professor at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine and now Chief Science Officer at Voi.

Brad grew up in a small town in northern Iowa. He studied chemistry in college, graduated, and married his wife one month later. They were then blessed with two baby boys within the first four years of marriage. Having babies gave their family a desire to return to the old paths – to nourish their family with traditional, homegrown foods; rid their home of toxic chemicals and petroleum products; and give their boys a chance to know a simple, sustainable way of life. They are currently building a homestead from scratch on two little acres in central Texas. There’s a lot to be done to become somewhat self-sufficient, but they are debt-free and get to spend their days living this simple, good life together with their five young children.
