Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 12, 2017 — Educhain, a leading blockchain startup in educational technology, and MENA College of Management (MCM) today announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement a pilot of Educhain’s blockchain credentialing solution.

Educhain enables academic institutions to issue official digital academic credentials. Using blockchain technology, Educhain is building an infrastructure of trust to facilitate seamless exchange and authentication of digital credentials, and enable a comprehensive “academic passport” of student achievement through all levels of education. The MoU was signed between Mark Balovnev, Chief Executive Officer of Educhain, and Prof. Abdel Moneim M.B. Ahmed, President of MCM.

Mark Balovnev, CEO of Educhain, commented: “In any exchange of traditional academic documents, trust is the limiting factor. By leveraging blockchain technology to issue digital credentials that are easily shareable for students and verifiable for recipients, the entire process is streamlined. We are excited to work with such a forward-thinking institution as MCM to pilot the application of blockchain credentials.”

Prof. Abdel Moneim M.B. Ahmed, President of MCM, stated, “As an continuously innovative and student-centric institution, we are looking forward to working with Educhain to empower our students through digital credentialing and enhance their mobility in our increasingly globalized world.“

Dr. Mohan Agarwal, Director of Continuing Education and Community Engagement, added, “This agreement is key to our digital innovation strategy and serves as the first step in adopting and delivering revolutionary tools to Dubai and the surrounding region. In this regard, we are pleased to be an early adopter and thought leader in this space.”
